Value you entered isn't valid for this field, please help

Hi,



I have a database where one field will give the "value you entered isn't valid for this field" error whenever I try to enter data.

The field is a combo box with a table/query row source. The data type is set as number and whenever I select a value, a number enters the field... so I don't understand why the value is invalid... The row source is a table with a number field and corresponding text field that's just used to provide info to the corresponding number.

I'm a beginner so I'm probably not explaining it very well, so please have a look here at my database:

The field I am refering to is ECOG field on the baseline form. Any comments or advice would be great!

Thanks for the comment, I don't even know how to do that so I'm assuming no for the look up field. I just want the numeric value. It's a one digit number so I'm sure it's not because of the length either.

Your ECOG field in the [Base Line] table *is* in fact a "Lookup Field". The DLCO field right above it is *not*. Here's pictures on how to change that: http://www.btabdevelopment.com/ts/removelookups

Sorry, I didn't know that a combo box was considered a look up. Is there any way to keep it that way and still get the form to work? what's making it incompatible?

If you follow the directions on the link I posted, the form should still work. Lookup's on a form are just fine. Lookup's in a table are problematic as you have already discovered.
