Question How to have a Subform fit to screen?

Hi I am designing a database for several users all with different sized screens, some widescreen, some not.

I have discovered that one of my forms that contains a datasheet subform cuts the scroll bars off on the narrower screens.

Does anyone know how I can have the subform auto fit the screen size?

There is a fit to screen option but that doesn't seem to make any difference. I have tried many options on the net but none seem to work so far.

I know could reduce the size the subform so that it fits in all but this is not an ideal or attractive option. As it is in datasheet view I don't need to worry about re scaling lots of objects.

I would be really grateful if someone could help

I don't know of any way to 'scale' objects other than by setting Windows screen resolution, and that would affect everything.

I think you just have to size the form to accommodate smallest screen.

You could set the subform in Continuous view and arrange the controls as a multi-line record to minimize the scrolling needed. Works for me.

There are a number of hacks out there for addressing this problem, but Form Resizer, from Jamie's Software, is probably the best known. It's been in use, on several of my apps, for a number of years, without problems. It should be noted that all hacks of this nature work best when used to 'size up' rather than 'sizing down' apps. In other words, develop the app in the lowest resolution the app is likely to encounter.

This gem can be downloaded here:

    http://jamiessoftware.tk/resizeform/rf_jump.html

After downloading the executable file afr.exe, and running it, a small "Read Me' file will be found in the same folder as the exe file, giving simple instructions.

It's offered as Freeware, although a modest $5 or $10 donation is suggested, and well worth it!
