    Question Corrupt Records

    Hello Everyone,

Over the past few weeks I have been running into a slight problem with my database. Every once in a while, I will get an error that says another person is has accessed this record. Then it proceeds to ask whether or not I would like to save my changes. If I click yes, access corrupts that entire record and throws blocks in all of the fields across the record and throws out errors whenever that record is accessed in the future. The part that confuses me is the fact that I am the only one in the database. My database is split with the front end on my desktop and the back end on our network in a location that only I have access to. I have looked for leftover .ldl files but couldnt find any. Is there any ideas on why this would be happening? I have tried to look for patterns but the error seems to be somewhat random. TIA!

If it is just you then move the BackEnd to your machine for a while and see if the problem goes away. You may have a flakey ENet card somewhere. It is also possible to cause problems with the way a system is designed. Do you have Name AutoCorrect turned off? Tools>Options...>General Tab

    Hi RuralGuy,
As of right now, there will be other people accessing the database over the next week so I will see if I can pull it down for a day or so to see if the ethernet card is the problem. Also, I did not have Name Autocorrect Off. Ill turn it off to see if this could be causing the problem. Thanks!

Hmmm...I thought you said you were the only one in the database? If it is multi-user, here is the best article I've found on the subject.

    Hi Rural Guy,
Sorry, should have been more clear. At the time that this was happening, I was the only one who had access to the database. However, in the next week, I will need to release it to others to have access as well. Ill check out that link you posted to see if I can find my answer in there. Thanks for help!
