I have a database I have set up in WIN7 64 bit system. I transferred database to a WINXP 32 bit system. I modified the main form in the XP system to be a split form. I then copied the file back to WIN7 64 bit systems and have found that the datasheet portion of the splitform does not display on the WIN7 system. I have checked many settings to include that it is shown as a split form, checked the record source setup on the property sheet, data tab, and all is set up the same but datasheet does not display on the WIN7 systems. It seems as if this may be a bug with Access. Has anyone else run into this issue? I am uncertain if it is a 32 bit verses 64 bit issue or if it may have something to do with screen resolutions or what. I have also read that the splitforms tend to be buggy in other posts. If so may try to figure out how to simulate the splitform with a subform instead. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
FOLLOW UP - Have done some more experimenting with this issue. I had backups of database and pulled form off of 64 bit design. I was able to set up split form without issue. I am going to confirm if the 64 bit designed form works on the 32 bit system tomorrow. Based on these results believe issue is either with 64 bit verses 32 bit system or WIN7 verses XP. If all works out it appears the "fix" is to do the design work only on the 64 bit system. I will confirm in this post once known.
06/21/2012 - Confirmed issue is with 64 bit WIN7 system verses 32 bit XP system. Form edited on 64 bit system works fine on 32 bit system but if you reverse and edit form on 32 bit system it does not work on the 64 bit system, at least with split form.
