I'm fairly new to access and am a teacher trying to create a database of my students scores. What I am trying to do is record all the work that my students submit: homework, bookwork, test results, projects and create an average score as a percentage grade. So that as the semester advances I can hand them their grade week by week so that they don't have to wait until the end of the term to find out how they are going. I've created this in excel and am confident about being able to do it access as I have made some databases in the past; although I am having to read up on it again. What I am unsure about (and this is my question) is how to make a chart to give the students a visual indication of how they have been going. For this I envision creating a button that when pressed records all the students present grades in a field with the date the button was pressed. As I have it once a students mark is updated there is no history of what it has been so no graph of their progress can be made.
If someone can steer me in the right direction of how to go about this and what to read up on it would very appreciated.
