Updating Multiple Access Records From Imported Excel Spreadsheet

Situation: Access Database 2010 is used to capture progress on accounts. We are able to perform remedies on multiple accounts in the field and would like to update the records in Access all at once (by batch) rather than one-by-one.

Desire: I would like to export specific records from Access into Excel, make the updates to the records in Excel, then import the changes back into Access. I am looking for the updated Excel spreadsheet to overwrite the existing data in Access for that particular record.

Not sure if this is possible. Any instruction or alternative method for performing this "batching update" would be much appreciated.

Why don't you pick 1 piece of sw either Access or Excel?

I realize you have 1 post, so I'm not sure if you are being taught 2 or 3 ways of doing things, or what.
But I think until you get some familiarity with these products, you stick with one before "confusing yourself and concepts" by moving back and forth.

Will it work if you just delete the data that is in Access and then import the Spreadsheet into the Empty Table[s]?

I apprecaite your comments Orange. The reason we have to use the database is because we have remote personnel across the country making updates to accounts as well. Instead of passing around numerous spreadsheets and putting effort into keeping them all organized, we needed a single database that all the field personnel could work from and update.

I suggest you research database design, and normalization before you get too deep into Access.
Access and Excel are different animals.

You have a lot of issues lurking just beneath the surface in your "proposed system".

    -multiple spreadsheets
    -users across the country
    - updates
    -multiuser
    -data base administration
    -data management

Consider ---"So now you have all your eggs in 1 basket, you think there's less effort keeping it organized"???

Step back - understand some concepts

Get your tables set up. Create some test data. Identify some transactions and the expected outcomes. Test your model. Reconcile every issue (unexpected issue) and alter the model or the data until it does what you expect.
