Creating Access tool to compare two excel files for consistency

    Hi there

I'm trying to create an access tool to compare 2 excel files cause of the extend of data. The data on the excel files are in 10-15 columns both numerical and alpha numerical. I'm just getting a hang of access and would want to know how to begin on this task.

I'm open to suggestions, and any help offered. Thanks in advance

you can import them both into their own access tables as is then use a "search for duplicates" or search for non duplicates" and create a query that will compare the data for you..

if that's how you want it compared.. you didn't specify.

Creating Access tool to compare two excel files for consistency

    Hi David

Thanks for the response, I tried the queries but not successful.

I've attached the database file for your ref; the master excel file has 2 sheets (Full truck and Less than); The excel file that needs to be overlapped and checked for inconsistencies are also there.

It needs to match the master tables completely, wrong information and extra information if any needs to be filtered
