Post Create Dynamic Drop Down Menu

Hi I'm new to access but pretty savy technically. What I'd like to do is create a drop down list on a specific cell to select different content. The contents of one cell for example could be selected to be one of 25 different skits (short plays put on by cub scouts), another cells contents could be selected to be one of 25 different cub scout songs. What I'm creating is a database to help plan scouting programs based on a predefined set of data that are grouped in different categories. Categories are Introductions, Skits, Songs, One-Liners, Attention Getters, Stories, etc. A cells pull down menu could would then be selected to be one of 25 different "theatrics" based on the categories. When you click a cell the drop down list appears and when you made a selection, the selected item is posted on the cell... Is there a limitation on the drop down cell and the amount of text it can display? If there is a limit, the titles of the skits/songs/etc. could be the main content, but I need a way to be able to drill down into the title to find the skit/song/etc. content (lyrics, characters, script, props, etc.).

I'd appreciate any help you could give me on getting started on this project.

    Thanks very much,
    Jason F

Review the 'sticky' thread tutorials at http://forums.aspfree.com/microsoft-access-help-18/ to help you understand how to design a relational database.

Might also look at the Access template Recipes database. The model could be much like what you need.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
