    Shared Database

    Hi everyone,

I have a access database that, due to restrictions in the budget, as to be shared using a network share (folder).

In this database i have several forms and some of these form have controls (buttons) that open word docs and populate these documents (bookmarks) with value in the textboxes or comboboxes in these forms...

    My problems is the following:
I have successfully shared the database with other users and gave these users the permissions that they need. the problem is that when the users try to open the word documents, the documents don't open at all. they get a message that the document is damaged or corrupted... but when they try to open the documents directly from the shared folder they can open them...
but aren't able to open them via the database... can anyone help me with this problem??

    thanks in advance...

How does budet restrictions influence the implementation of a multi-user database?

'gave users the permissions that they need' - where did you do this? On the folders or is this something in the database?

Would have to review the project if you want to provide it.

In the sense that i can't implement an SQL Server or SharePoint.

I gave all the users permissions in the folder and in the database user and accounts permissions...

all users can execute and read... the files inside the shared folder and can access the database properly... they just can't open the word documents that some controls open...

on their computer.. but in mine there is no such problem

    SQL Server Express is free.

Unless you want to zip up the project and some documents and attach to post so we can test, don't think can help out.
