    Access 2010 does not recognize....

I have created a database that I've had to ask questions about on the forum. The database probably has 15 iterations. I have on occasion run into an issue with it corrupting and I've created a new database and imported the forms, tables, etc into the new db.

I have been copying it from my laptop to a USB and then copying it onto the clients laptop. This was working fine until a week ago. Now when I try to open it on the clients machine I get...

Enable Content at the top of the screen when I click on this I get a huge message box that says something about not recognizing the VBA Project and if I click OK on the message box it will wipe out my code - which is does very well. If I click cancel the database closes.

I have tried to import the data into a new database on his machine and it won't let me access the database at all. I have also tried renaming it. I checked my options area but maybe I missed something there. The client uninstalled and reinstalled access on his machine and it still won't work. It also doesn't work on his new Windows 7 desktop at home.

Any ideas on why this is happening? Can I send it to you so you can see if you get the same error on your machine?

Will it let you Compact and Repair? Can you then zip it up and is it less than 2MB? If so you can post it here.

This sounds like a trust issue. Are you using Win XP and the client recently converted to Vista or Win 7 on their laptop? Vista/Win 7 sees any VBA/VB code as a virus/trojan/worm unless it is copied to a trusted zone.

On my laptop (Vista), I turned off UAC and configured it (Vista) to look ( & run as much as possible) like Win XP.

If you copy the db from your USB stick to another computer that has Win XP & A2010, do you have any problems? That would be my first test.

OK so how do i copy the code or the database to a trusted zone. I did add Desktop to the trusted areas. Did I need to turn the computer off and the back on after I did this? I did close and reopen Access after adding the zone. I don't have another computer with my set up that I can copy it too.

Search for Win7 or Vista and "disable UAC". This is a windows thing. I don't remember how I turned it off - it was a few years ago.

Any chance you can save the db in A2007 format?

I recently had a malware attack and it changed alot of settings on my computer - still trying to get my startup files back . Anyway, my UAC is turned on and I don't think it was before because the computer never gave a message asking me if it was OK to access certain things. I am wondering if mine was off and now its on and that is affecting the transfer of the files to the USB drive? What do you think?

Just type UAC in the search window in Win7 and then select "Change User Account Control settings" to access the UAC menu.
