    Quartly Queries

I feel a little annoying here asking simple/stupid ?'s compared to others' posts, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

I have a Table & one of my fields is "Quartly" Originally, I had planned on entering in the quarter for each record, but that's outright stupid. Next I thought about trying to make the "Quartly" field into a calcualate field based off of my "Months" Field.
eg. Something like, ("Jan" "Feb" & "Mar" = 1) - but that didn't work nor made any sense.

I looked all through the Help under writing criterias & I cannot find what I'm looking for.

I know & have many queries (Sums) based on my "Months" field. How can I create a query to display the Sums per Quarter 1-query vs by "Months"?

    eg.
I'e attach a spreadsheet example of what I'm trying to acheived

you do calc the quarter based on date - or stuff the quarter info into its own field during data entry unseen but for the express purpose of being there to sort. neither approach is wrong nor stupid.

    hope it helps.

Doesn't look like the spreadsheet actually made it here.

As NTC says, you can get the quarter from a date.

    NTC:
<you do calc the quarter based on date>
Can you expand on this a bit more -- give eg. I tried looking in the Expression Builder & under Date/Time there's nothing (that I could find) regarding quartly.

    Thanks
