Use VBA code in some event.

When user enters what - opens the db, opens a form?

Record is new compared to what?

    Can use DLookup function.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

I understand you want to do something when user enters username/password, but don't understand the rest of your statement.
