    line spacing in access 2010

I know this is crazy, but I can't find anything in "access reports 2010" which allows me to adjust the line spacing. Seems like a "no brainer" but I can't find anything. The default spacing is "huge", yet line spacing is set at 0cm.

Quick note: line spacing is the distance between detail lines.

When you say line spacing, do you mean the vast amount of white space in the details area of the report? Generally you adjust the spacing by adjusting the area of the report in which you are working. (Click on the bar at the bottom of the detail area and move it up to the bottom of the fields you are displaying...)

Thanks, every bottom line has been pushed through the roof and the space between lines is still slightly greater than the size of the line.

Might double check the actual fields on the report by double clicking on them to ensure that any white space that might be hanging out there has been removed.

    Smile line spacing on report

Wow, That's the answer, Thanks for you help.

Just to restate "the size of the boxes on the field items in design view determines the line spacing. The largest box is used for all of the items on the line. Line spacing cannot be adjusted in layout view.

Line spacing is also controlled by the postion of the group control. i.e. the bottom line in the "detail" section, so for good control, bottoms-up for every section.

    Thanks, again.

First, select your rows you want to squeeze together.
In Design view, go to a tab called 'Arrange' (Access defaults to a tab called Design).
Once in Arrange, go to the section in 'Control Layout'.
Choose 'Control Padding'. You will have 4 options. Narrow makes the spacing slim BUT using None removes spacing between records/rows. And yes, if you've put a border around your field, it's still easy to discern individual rows, even without the space.
