    Printing a form letter

I have a form letter I wish to print for individuals in a table. I don't desire to use the mail merge feature. The problem that I am having is setting up the fixed text in the letter. I have created the letter in Word. How can I insert this text into my report letter? I tried drawing a lable and then copy and paste into that area, but that didn't work. Also, tried keying the text data into a label in the letter, but couldn't contol the formatting of the text. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tomc

While this video is for doing what you want with a pre-printed form, I think that if you create a letter in Word and then make it a .pdf and put it in your report as shown with spaces for your variables as Mike demonstrates, then I think you will accomplish your wishes.

and just in case, here is Mike's form letter video without a mail merge, but ...formatting is your issue so this may not work.

Thanks for replying Alan. I am not technically skilled enough to follow your solution which should help me insert a text into my form letter. My problem is just entering a set of text into my form letter in design mode. I have done this before but for the life of me I don't remember how I did it. I believe I somehow used the insert image feature, but I'm not at a loss as to how I can convert a .doc file into an image file. Thanks again. Tomcd

What part of my explanation do you think you need help with. That is what we are here for. I think we can get this if you are willing.

Thanks for staying with this. I didn't understand how the calendar procedure in the link that you gave me is a way to do what I'm trying to do. Also how do I change a .doc document to a .pdf document and if I do that, how can I then insert it into my letter? What I'm attempting to do should not be complicated. I just want to put fixed text into a report letter. I tried to do it with the label feature, but that drives me nuts with changing to bold, underscore, etc. I have a .doc which includes the text as I would like it to appear in my letter but I can't seem to find a way to insert it into my report in design view mode. Excuse me for not being clearer in describing my problem. Thanks again, tomc

My apologies, In the first link, I posted the wrong link for inserting a pdf.

Look at this one and then post back with questions.

    http://www.datapigtechnologies.com/f...einreport.html

To create a pdf, you will need to download a pdf creator. I use a free product called pdf creator.

Here is a link for the download

    http://www.pdfforge.org/

Where Mike uses SnagIt to make a .png, you can get the free version called JING. Google Jing for a link to a free download.

    Alan,

Yes, I was able to do it based on the last link you gave me. There were two tips, one used a scanned document and the second used a screen capture procedure. I used the screen capture procedure and managed to get it inserted in my report. Thanks very much for your help. Now I must find out how to tell the forum that my question was answered. Tomc
