    Adding fields to a form

I have been trying to add new fields to an existing form. This database in only on my computer and the database was created on the same computer. When I go to modify the form, even to relocate a field box, I get the following error "engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time". I click "OK" and get the next message. "You tried to commit or rollback a transaction without first beginning a transaction". I click "OK" and get the next message. "There isn't enough memory to perform this operation". By this time the form no longer works. I was modifying the form last week with no problems, but I had to constantly "Compact and Repair", but that no longer works.

Have you tried to create a new database and import all the objects from the existing db to the new one. Not sure what your issue is, but I have done this with success in the past, when I had an unexplained issue. Your current db may be corrupted.

Thanks for your response. I created a new database, but when I added new fields the forms locked up. I have not had this problem with previous versions of Access. It only started with 2007. I think I will give up on this project. Thanks again.
