    Moving between tabs pages

    Hi

Hopefully this will be a very quick one.

I have several tab pages with subforms embedded within them

However, there is the annoying issues that each time i move to the next time, the form page shunts upwards so I have to scroll back to make the visible again.

I am sure there is a property setting for this, where the visual format remains the same no matter which tab you click into ?

    Anyone help please?

Alas no it did not solve the problem. The problem is that the sub form in each of the tab pages are different sizes. When the subforms are within the screen size, the tabs are fine they stay as they are. It is when the sub form is long than the screen (when you have to scroll down to see it all),when you click to that tab is shunts the screen down so you have to scroll back up to see the tabs themselves?

    Hope that makes sense?

    Lup,

So the problem is that your subs are wider and/or taller than some screens?

Are you aware that this problem is one of the biggest out there? I don't really think there IS a reliable solution for it, other than to cover every scenario that you'll run into with one "fit all" design.

For instance, in the web design world, this was recognized very quickly by designers and (from my understanding) the solution to varying screen resolutions from visitors was to set a standard where the page containers were set no larger than 900 pixels wide. And they did that because it was accepted that a very high majority of visitors would not have their res's set to anything lower than 1024px wide. Actually in some OS's, I think that's the lowest you can go anyway.

I've personally taken my Access design the same way. I always create forms that are small enough to view on a 14" laptop screen. But really, if the props are set right, the window should resize anyway, based on the res change of your user.

If, by some miracle, it doesn't though you can always blame others for this annoyance. This has always worked for me. I remember someone asking me about this one time and I think I blamed it on MS for creating an OS that doesn't allow window resizing to take place "under this rare circumstance". I remember it because the client took the bait.

If presidents can stay employed by blaming other people for anything and everything, why can't developers? Seriously, it works! That's the great thing about living in a country where consumers aren't smart.
