append records

hi
using access 2007 with xp.
want to append 173 records to existing database with approx 32,000 records.
have followed instructions to the letter i believe, several times.
when i append and click run, nothing happens.

You are running a saved Access query object? You are running the query from the ribbon? Show the SQL statement.

you're trying to append records from one DB to another DB, from inside DB 1?

If that is the case, change the radio button option on the dialog popup when you change a query from one type to the APPEND type. There is a radio button on the left side of that dialog box (where you input the target table name) that says "current database" and "other database".

I think that's right...
