    Collect Data via Email Form

I am using and modifing (very little) the template "Issues and Tasks" to have my team of 35 people submit any feedback that they may have on a particular campaign.

Noone has Access except for me....I would like to use the "Data Collect | Create Email" Feature so that whenever they have any issues they can just fill that out (Save the email in a special folder to be used multiple times). The problem I am encountering is that the "Create Email" button is greyed out and I am not sure why....also, I would like to know if this is the most efficient way of doing this.

It is a potentially powerful feature. For sure with something like this - you will want/need one of the Access textbooks easily found at Amazon or a big book store - - that will have an example of this set up and go thru it step by step. because this feature involves Outlook, plus is a more complicated set up.

An alternative potentially for you is a webform via sharepoint hosting.

    Hope it helps.

I'm bumping this because I just noticed that my own "Create Email" option is greyed out, and so far haven't found an explanation of how to activate it. Anyone know?

I'm running Access 2010 on Win7x64. My default email client is not a MS Office product (although I do have Outlook and Windows Live Mail installed); it's a program called Pegasus, and it is set as the default for the Win7 MailTo protocol, and for the MAPI Send mail command.

I tried testing DoCmd.SendObject in my project and it crashes Access. I suspect the above issue may be related.

    Thx for any help. -Ron

EDIT - Cross posted on another forum.

For future searchers: That feature is enabled when either a table or query, but not a form, is open and has focus. My thanks to BL on another forum.
