    linking Querries

    Hello all,

I am having problems like usual. Here is what i am trying to do

I have an imported table that has only SSN on employees. On another table I have employees SSN and first name and last name and all other kinds of info.

How would I run a querry that would use the SSN's that i got on the one table and display the correct name for the ssn?

I know this is basic, but I am still lost.

You would run a select query and you would join the tables on SSN. Hopefully you don't have duplicates in the table with all the info.

Again, as mentioned in one of your other posts, you have to describe you situation so we understand. Plain English... this is my situation..I have xx tables containing....
I need to find out.....This is a one time event to clean up some data... or this will be recurring x ties per month....
Where did the list of SSNs come from? Why do you want to match them with Employee info?

This reference is great for understanding tables and NORMALIZATION. Table structures and relationships are key to queries and accessing/manipulating information. Read the first 3 topics (at least) here.
