Cant move fields around on a form

    2007
Cant move fields around on a form; I generated a “multiple records per form” form (looks like a report; has column headings and multiple records horizontally ) , and now need to adjust it; endless frustration has followed. I cant just grab and adjust the width of one field and it’s prompt; everything is linked, and nothing is working. I’ve read of and have toggled that little floating hatch mark , and it *seems* to toggle the whole group, but nothing changes. Mind you, the cursor changes to and from various arrows that suggest I can move or re-size, but nothing, in fact, functions. (in a useful way)

It looks cool though ! Just like the rest of 2007/2010; odd however that I was much more productive in the less cool looking 2003 and prior version of Access.

The controls on the form are grouped because of the layout. From design view of the form, select all of the controls on the form and then either select Arrange--Remove Layout from the tool bar or right click in the form and look for layout and then remove layout. Removing the layout should allow you to remove controls individually.

thanks ! and , by the way, one other thing...

Thanks ! that did it ! If only MS cared as much for my productivity ! While I have your attention...one other little thing...or two..
I find I lose awareness of window borders with the 2007 color scheme; I just threw it into black as a test, but I'm still often as lost, as interior windows' borders match the outside Access border too closely; is there any fine control for this ?
The other peeve is the length of the right mouse menu window in design view; "properties", which of course I use hundreds of times a day, is at the bottom of a now very long list of things I've never even thought of using (like anchoring); It's often off the bottom of the screen ; is there any control over positions in this list ?
Again, many thanks for the prior help

You know, I've never looked to see if there is a way to change border colors of forms so they stand out from the basic color scheme. As to the property sheet, I don't think you can change the order of the items. They have pretty much stayed the same for the last several versions of Access
