    images won't display

I'm just starting out in access and I've come across a problem.

I've embedded images in my table, OLE embedded.
When i create a report i can add a bound frame but when i preview the report all i get is the generic image icon (its a jpg), the filename and the words (command line).

    any idea whats happening?

    Thanks - i'll try that.

does this mean jpgs can't be used? I don't really want to have to convert all jpgs to bitmaps just so they can be used in the database!

Is there a reason for storing images in your db? You can store images in external file and link to them in Access. This uses less Access storage.

    nope - same problem.

when i try to add the photo in the appropriate field i get an error that says the ole isn't registered. When i click on the link button it's fine and puts the word 'package' into the field.

hmmm... that's a bit beyond me at the moment. I'm not really VBA capable i'm afraid.

I've had some success with attachments in 2007, however I need to be downward compatible to 2003 so I still need to crack the photo issue using another method.

could I store them in excel and link to them? Is there an add-in I can use?
