    Jon,

these are the problems I ran into:

    • the report tries to print when it opens, even when right clicking on it for a design view-based view of it.
    • I can't open it in design view due to errors I've never seen before.
    • there is no code behind the report in the vba module, even if there is supposed to be
    • I get a multitutde of errors opening AND closing your database
    • the report object was apparently, at some previous point in time, re-formatted in a PDF format, according to an error I saw
    • when trying to import anything from this db into a new db, the opening of your db fails because "report could not be loaded".

so my assumption, based on all of that, is corruption. Either your db is, or your report is. My other assumption is that, when some sort of manipulation of your file or report happened in the past, the corruption happened. I have no idea when or where that happened, but guessing from the multitude of errors that saw in about one minute, I would say that it is probably related to an integration with another program or server at some point in time.

Only you would know this stuff though. Those are my thoughts on this. I don't have a solution for you.

Thank you for looking at it Adam. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I didn't notice the thread went to a 2nd page until this evening.

It's curious that you can't look at it in design view, because I can. Maybe my upload to this forum went badly or something.

You seem to know alot about Access. Are there any good (free) places to learn more about how to really use Access on the web?

what does "really learn more" mean, exactly??

The reason - you can almost get surgery on this (ridiculous) internet now, so depending upon what you want, you'll go to different websites.

for instance, if you want a pirated video, you won't go to irs.gov

    Jon,

apparently the sarcasm didn't go over well with you, so here's the answer to the question about education on the internet:

    http://www.mvps.org/access/

    http://www.functionx.com/access/

    http://allenbrowne.com/tips.html

    http://www.fmsinc.com/MicrosoftAccess/help.html

    So there ya go!

Other sites by actual Microsoft MVP's also do help, but most of them are very limited with regard to the amount of content and/or tutorials they provide. For instance, Paul Baldy, who answers ?'s here a lot, has his own site as well, but the content is limited, probably due to the fact that one person is running the site and not a corporation.

Actually I guess I didn't completely understand the sarcasm, but my gratitude was sincere. Sorry for my thickness, I'm somewhat of a fish-out-of-water here in forum land. I was barely able to navigate in here at first, as you could probably see. I used to be an old mainframe guy a long time ago, but I haven't really kept up... just a low level user now. Bit of a dinosaur I suppose. Anyway, it was an interesting experience and I will check out the links you sent. Thank you again Adam. (...how do you do this icon stuff... oh, here it is.)
