I will give that a try tomorrow, but I thought the replace started at position 1?, as what I tried seemed to fix everything but those two, and I cannot see whay it would complain about those even, :-(

That's what makes dealing with strings so screwy. The first and last ones don't really exist as far as the string content is concerned. Anything between them is content. So there is no dq in the string if the only ones showing are the first and last. Those are delimiters, not content. As with dates, the # is not part of the date.
As for the 2 problem files, you can look for anything suspicious in properties with file manager.
If you have any utility that edits metadata you can view and just try altering some attributes to see if the problem goes away.
You could try running WMP Legacy again to see if it updates the library, which you will need to do anyway if you alter the attributes in any way.

i would rather use WMP (the exe) if I will edit the meta just for the db to work.
a db we created must be robust and idiot free.
