Unhappy Trouble making editable lists in access

Thanks for having me on the forum . Firstly I would like to introduce my objectives for my database.

I run the Stationery Distribution System for a London local authority, responsible for all stationery-related equipment distribution to Primary (Elementary) and Secondary (Middle and High) schools. We have worked on a paper-based system with many filing cabinets and folders for a number of years. Only recently have we moved towards electronic systems (schools have to submit their requisition forms via email ). We now need a cost effective and simple database to allow easily accountable and searchable records. We have therefore turned to Access.

I would like help on how to insert drop-down lists which can be edited later. I've already had so much difficulty with this

    Thanks in advance!

What are your real requirements? Before you can "pick/choose" the software, you really need to do some analysis and determine and confirm your requirements. Once requirements have been established, what solutions are feasible?
Why email? With internet and free browsers you might find that an internet based system is cost effective.

    What exactly does this mean?
All stationery-related equipment distribution to Primary (Elementary) and Secondary (Middle and High) schools.
How do you order supplies? Invoice? What other parts of your business are involved? (Finance, Admin, Personnel..)
    How are "things" delivered?

You need a 30000 ft. overview description of what you are trying to do --simple English. You are a long way from a decision on which database software to choose in my view.
There may be commercial packages that do most of what you need --who knows. Why consider designing and building a customized system before getting requirements documented and confirmed?

I've already had so much difficulty with this
What difficulty(ies)? What exactly is this?
Is this your first/introduction to database?

Google this how to build a relational database to support business then review a few of the results to get some understanding of the steps involved.

I do not think this is your immediate issue

There may be other challenges such as depicted in this image. I'm not saying these are present. I am suggesting that these have to be considered/addressed before "..how to insert drop-down lists.."

    Good luck with your project.
