Access realation ships one to many showing no symbols

hello all,

i am making a database with a lot of events. each events (table events) haves several different individuals(general individue) and each individu has many information which are also linked to different tables for exsample, mesurements, biology, reproduction ect.. so they are all one-to-many relationships, but from the events table to the general table, in the relationship overview has not got any symbols like the 1 and the rotated 8 . but from the from the genral to the other tables the symbols do apear. see pic for the idear. the enforce the intergety is truned off, because other wise i get the error see pic.


does this matter over time? or is there another way to for come this. because there has to be 2 autonumers in the gerenal table.



i hoping someone has an idear.

The events table is Stranding? What is the join type between Stranding and General? Is it INNER type? Is StrandingID an autonumber? Is StrandingNUM a number type?

Yes events table is the stranding table,
the join type between stranding and the general is an the option 1. and the realtionship type is one to many.
yes strandid is an autonumber.
and standNUM is an autonumber, but this don't have to be of course, but how do i do this right?

ow and AlimentaryID is an text field, should i turn this around. and make AlimentaryID an autonumber and the strandNUM id an numertype and then link this to the strandid, but how do i make this link?

Why would you link Alimentary and Stranding tables?

Cannot link two autonumber fields.

StrandingID in Stranding Table should be autonumber.

StrandingNUM in General table should be a number (long integer) type.

stranding table (events) should link to the generaltable (because in this table there are many individuals which where there on the same event)
the Alimentary and so ford should link to every indiviual, but in the end in the form of report we want to see which individue belongs to which event.

so each record in the stranding table --->> has many indiviuals which are recorded in the genral table ---> and each indiviual has many differnt set of data (which is to many and big to put in one table)--->>the other tables Alimentary is the other extra data from one individual.

i hope it is clearer now if not tell me.

wow !! it worked . the StrandingNUM was just in integer type so i changed this in long integer, thanks for the help. why is this one thing so important for the referential integrity?

PK and FK fields must be same type. Autonumber is a long integer.
