We're using a customer support database from Microsoft. My boss created a calls query by date and a report using the query. He and my coworker have Access 2013, 64-bit, and I have Access 2010, 32-bit. All three of us are on Windows 8, 64-bit.
When either of them run the report, it's fine.
When I run the report, the call date on the detail line and the "now" date in the footer are displayed as pound signs in the report view. If I click on one of them, it displays correctly while I'm in the field, but goes back to pound signs when I click elsewhere. I know the pound signs normally mean a field isn't big enough to display the data, but in this case the fields are more than large enough.
If I print the report or display the print preview, it's garbled-- what should be a 1-page report ends up being 37 pages long, with a very small number of widely-spaced random characters where the print lines should be, and a great deal of white space.
I created a second report from scratch, using the exact same query, fields, labels, and layout as the report my boss had created. When I run my report, it works like a champ-- the dates display correctly in the report view, and prints correctly.
Does anyone have any ideas what the issue is and how to resolve it? My boss thinks I should be able to use his report, instead of needing a separate report of my own. I would simply delete his report and rename mine so there's only one report, but I'm keeping his report for testing purposes to see if I can figure out what's causing this issue.
