    query fails

I have a client running MS Access 2003. The have a database that runs queries against a ERP system. They MS Access database resides on a network share. They access the ERP data via a ODBC connection. They had a user whos hard drive crashed and they had to give her a new system, when she tried to run her queries they fail with a jet error that a fields does not exist in the table. Someone made a copy of the queriy, when she runs the copy it succeeds? Thereis no difference in the queries and I do not know why one fails and the copy does not.

    Any ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

So is there still a problem, or has the new query resolved the issue?

yes there is still a problem, they would like to use the original query, also they are experienceing the same problem with other queries and they do not want to have to go in and make copies of every query to make them work. Also they are concerned about setting up new users if they will experience similair problems.

Well I don't have Acc2007, so am not familiar with any operational issues. From an pure analytical view, you can identify exactly what you do; what has been working; what has changed; any peculiarities with machines that are having issues; any pattern to the machines and/or the issues; any changes to operational procedures; tables are relinked when new machines or changes were made; etc, etc.

I can't understand why a copy of a query should work. Perhaps there is some minor corruption.
Do you do Compact and Repair to purge the database of old versions of queries, deleted file spaces etc?

Identify with as much detail as practical and report back and I'm sure some of the people here will have some suggestions/recommendations.

    Good luck.
