Adding a filed to a table in MS Access 2010

I know that you add an additional field to an already existing table in MS Access 2010.

The filed, of course must not have any relationships.

But can one add an autonumber filed and will it start at 1?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

    Lou Reed

If the table is empty it should start at 1. If the table is not empty, it will number the existing records and the next record added will not be 1, it will be the starting record count plus 1.
