I am new to working with access. I have access 2008 files and I need to convert them to access 2013. Can you tell me and/or point me to a link that will tell me how to convert access 2008 to access 2013?

Why do you need to convert them? Access 2013 should be able to read/run Access 2008 databases without any issues.

There is an old .net application that uses the access 2008 files. Now the application with be rewritten in sharepoint server 2013 and will be accessing access 2013 files. Thus I am assuming that the file would need to be converted so all the data in the access 2008 files can be used in the new sharepoint server application. Would this conversion be necessary or not? Is there a way to convert the access 2008 files to access 2013? If so, how would I accomplish this goal?
With most Microsoft applications, newer versions of applications usually can run older version without issue (Access 2013 should be able to run any Access 2008 databases). The problems usually occur when you try using an old version to run a newer version (as the newer version may have new features that the old version obviously won't recognize).
So since we are talking about the first situation here, I would think it shouldn't be necessary.
