Copy query design view into excel or word

I am trying to copy the design view for queries into either MS Word or Excel. It seems like it should be simple but Access doesn't seem to want to let me copy the table. I have a lot of criteria (and a lot of databases I am working with) and we are auditing our files and creating knowledge preservation documents to make sure no information is lost over time.

I am trying to copy the table that lists everything like below (and in the attached screenshot)
    Field
    Table
    Total
    Sort
    Show

    Criteria

Does anybody know a quick way to copy this information? I have searched and come up with nothing helpful.

    Copy to excel or word.zip

If you switch to SQL View, it shows your Query in SQL View (which is actually how access reads the query). That lists all the criteria, though it is not in the pretty Query Builder View you may be used to. Though it should be sufficient for an audit and knowledge preservation, as you could open a new query, switch to SQL View, paste the code in there, and it would work (you could also switch to the Query Builder View after doing that).

If you really want that pretty view, you may need to do a bunch of Screen Prints. However, you won't able to copy that back into Access.

Can use keyboard Print Screen to send image clips to the clipboard then paste into Word or Excel. Edit the image there.

Or use Windows Snipping Tool http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=windows-7

Or copy/paste the query SQL statement.

Or save copies of the database.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Thanks but I am really trying to have something that can look almost the same in excel as it does in access. That way if edits need to be made to either document it is easily done. I know all about SQL view and how I could copy it but some of the people who will review the documents don't - that is why I am trying to get a clean view of it.

What you are describing, and wanting to copy, only looks like a table - but it isn't one. It is only a part of the query design view, and MS Access uses the information in it to generate the query's SQL.

As has been pointed out, screenshots are the easiest (if not the only) way of doing what you want to do. If you are going to be doing a lot of this sort of thing, you might want to get a good piece of screen-capture software that can allow notations to and editing of images. (We use SnagIt, but there are many others).
