list box

all, i have a form with 3 list dropdown based on tables. each table has 3 fields: id, main field and description. I cannot get the list to choose only the main field. I keep changing the bound column and count column every which way I can figure but no go. I know ive done this before but I cant figure it out. Am I supposed to make the field a list box in the table the form is based on?

In the properties, Format, Column Width. 0;1;0 assuming that you have listed three as the column count.
