Importing URLs - how to have them automatically be clickable links

Whenever I import a table from Excel, even though I have the URLs in a column labeled "web address" and I have the settings on the table column as "Data Type: Hyperlink" I have to be manually right-click the hyperlink, choose "edit hyperlink" copy the "text to display" which is in the format http://www.something.com, then paste this address into "Address" in order to get the link to work with a click on the form.

How can I import into Access and have the URL links work automatically without having to go through this step for each and every record?

you could manipulate them at the form level and leave them as text if you want. color them, underline them, and code them.

or, have you tried starting the field as text, and changing it back to hyperlink after the import?
