problem with MS Time and Date Control

Hi, i'm having regarding microsoft data and time picker control 6.0. when the datatype of the column is set as data/time/varchar(20), it says that the alloted spaces are not enough. If i set the datatype as varchar(50) or text, an error occurs when the form tries to call the control.
