    Question Reformatting RTF to Text

    I have the data tables from an old database which we need for history. The only problem is that the RTF text is gooble-dee -gook as it has the notes for formatting in it.

    Is there a program or a way to strip off the formatting code and leave the text behind.

    e.g.
    "{\rtf1\ansi\deff0\deftab720{\fonttbl{\f0\fswi ss MS Sans Serif;}{\f1\froman\fcharset2 Symbol;}{\f2\fswiss Arial;}{\f3\fswiss MS Sans Serif;}}
    {\colortbl\red0\green0\blue0;}
    \deflang1033\pard\plain\f2\fs20 1.0\tab Refer to note 3 on drawing 9636-0S204 for N-S ties to edge of footing, for column E2z/EBx
    \par 1.1\tab Thickness of south wall at E1z inside semi circle is the same as the foundation wall running
    \par \tab E-W just south of line E1z.
    \par 1.2\tab 4"" topping on 6"" slab at ERL/E1x for extents of Rooms 1189 and 1190. Refer to attached
    \par \tab sketch 9636-SKA26.
    \par 1.3\tab Object at E3/EDy is slab depression for freezer unit in Room 1136. Depression size to be coordinated
    \par \tab with freezer unit manufacturer.
    \par 1.4\tab Refer to attached drawing 9636-SKA23 for mechanical shaft dimension on west side of elevator pit at E6.
    \par 1.5\tab Pier footing EY1/EX1 dimension from centreline to west edge of footing is 8'-0"".\plain\f3\fs17
    \par }

    Have you tried just copying it to a memo field? Memo fields are not RTF and Access might just have that function built in but not obvious.

    Here's a link to someone that has done quite a bit of work with RTF. There may be something there you can use. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/access/archi...in-access.aspx
