Automated Data Collection - Alert Required

I am using access to collect data from our sales team automatically and need to know when a new record is added to the database, even if the programme is not open, I would be most grateful if someone could assist me with this request ?

you can't do that. you have to have a medium between the program and your 'alert client'. for instance, if someone from a remote location is entering a record, you can send an email to yourself once they press the 'insert' button, or something of that nature.

obviously the program has to be opened on their end to insert a record, so the alert has to come from VBA, unless you're extremely talented.
