This approach should work as long as you have access to the computer that the backup will be saved to. Place your batch file on that drive within the backup folder and it should run. You may, however, have to map the drive/folder that holds the mdb file you are backing up.

This is all subject to network security and network uptime. If you map a drive/folder you will more than likely have to check it periodically to make sure the map is live and you don't need to refresh it.

I have my batch file in the same directory that my mdb file is in and I mapped a newtork drive to 'R:' so my batch file works just the opposite of what I am telling you to do. I did it this way because I sit at the computer that the mdb file resides on.

Once again, I hope this will help.

I know there is no way, that I will be able to map the network drive. I have tried to do that before with another project I was working on, and the security settings would not permit it . Would it work better if I kept the .mbd file on the network drive, and then put the backup batch file on my personal computer?

I placed the backup file in the folder, I am wanting to backup to, and it was unsuccessful. I am assuming, it is because I am unable to map the network drive. Any other suggestions, on how to back up this database?
