Notifications of new private message does NOT clear

    Hi Guys

I have a notification of a new private message that does NOT clear after I have been into messages. No matter what I do it continues to show "Notifications: 1". How can this be cleared?
If this helped, please click the star at the bottom left of this posting and add to my reputation . Many thanks.

I have had something similar on unread posts.
It seemed to happen when the post had been deleted.

The only way I managed to clear it was to mark all forums read.
Is there a similar option for PM's?

Not that I can see. I thought about deleting them but can't see a way to do that either

There is a "select" tick box on the far righthand side next to the message count.
if you tick that at the bottom of the page is an option to mark as read, delete, etc!

I have cleared up some strange forum issues (not just on this site) by clearing my cache.

Thanks Minty. With your help I have been able to mark all messages a read. I no longer have the "Notifications: 1" showing
