Display HTML or webpage in HTML report

    Hi all,

I have a functional webbrowser control in a form that displays HTML text, webpages, and all kinds of good things.

Part of this feature is to output the content to a word document, via a *htm file insert.

So I know that access is perfectly capable of working with html

however, where it seems to fail is in displaying a webbrowser in a report - which is infuriating. A report outputs RTF just fine and event converts HTML to plain text via the rich text control.

Spending days trawling Google finds that the answer is that a webbrowser control cannot function in a report. or there seems to be no answer,

But I wonder if the good folks on this fine forum might have a hidden snippet of workaround goodness?

Is there any viable means to display HTML text on a report.

The purpose is to be able to directly output the report to PDF.

Thanks for all good advice in advance.

Put your web browser in a form. Put that form in a report. Just checked and it can be done.

The new Edge browser control available in Access 365 works perfectly in reports.
No need to embed in a form used as a subreport.

Thanks guys. You're both always very helpful!

Edgar - The subform in a report idea works - a little bit over the top, but it work okay. I'm guessing that I'd have to figure out how to cater for long and short documents. I'm not sure can grow or shrink is available here. Still it seems a workable solution.

Colin - I have Microsoft® Access® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2302 Build 16.0.16130.20754) 64-bit - however, Edge control is not available in this version. No idea why or how to enable it. It doesn't appear in Controls or Active X control lists. Any idea how to enable it?

    Cheers and thanks again.

The Edge control was released in 365 v2304 so you'll have to wait until your version gets updated. Presumably you are in the semi annual channel or you have disabled updates.
Although the control does exist in your version, that was for early testers of the control and it it isn't accessible to you.

Good evening. I've come across this issue with the EdgeBrowserControl. It works fine in reports but doesn't not render fast enough for printing. Any ideas for this? These are charts/graphs that i'm using the controls for.
