Another Access 2003 and Windows7 issue

I have many databases in Access 2002-03 versions. When I run those databases in either Access 2007 or 2010 in Windows 7, I have major problems.
Unable to open and view many of the tables- freezes up and need to shut down the database. These work fine in XP.
Any solutions to this problem- I've tried the XP mode in Windows 7 - but also some problems and very slow.

Hmm...I've run some of my AccessXP systems on my new Win7 machine with both ac07 and ac10 without any issues.

    Problems

It is not all the tables. But those tables consistently do not open in 2007 or 2010 and do open in Access XP and in Windows XP

The answer is probably yes but I have to ask: Is *everything* fully patched? Access, Windows, etc.

I have up graded my Dell XPS laptop to Win7 and have run my Access files in 2003 and 2007 without any major problems. They were all written with Access 2003. Did have a problem with generating auto emails with the sendObject function but that seems to be working fine now.

All the updates and patches for Windows 7 and various versions of Access are up to date.
My Access versions are stored in separate folders (Access 2003, Access 2007, etc and Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Office 2010)
But an Access 2002-03 design opened in Access 2007 or 2010 in Windows 7 has problems (some of these databases have Access security setup and some do not. Biggest problem seems to be that tables are not visible.

Are we talking about split systems (FE/BE)? Is everythingt in a "Trusted Location"? You said:

Not visible? Not all of the tables but just some of them? Have you hidden any? There is a setting to "Show all tables". How is it set?

Yes, the design is FE/BE. No tables are hidden. The problem occurs with the Front end trying to open the linked tables and in the back end trying to open those tables.

I moved this to a thread of its own to get more feedback. Are the tables in Access 2002-03 format or Access 2000?

Thanks. Both of the databases having problems have the 2002-03 design.
One that was having problems is now working in 2007. Seems to be the databases with Access Security features. Problems with both 2007 and 2010.
Only certain tables hangup. Tried Compact and Repair - no impact

So you have User Level Security (ULS) enabled on the problem databases? Are they all on the same .mdw file (the security file)?

No they are on separate MDWs. Also this problem occurred on a DB without Security. That database did the same thing with tables not opening but able to view in design. That database is now working in 2007.

I'm sorry Megan but I'm fresh out of ideas here. Maybe someone else will drop by with a suggestion.
