Yes difficult if explanation isn't clear, when we are adding new records, i check box is deselected to add current shipment week

by this time, we have imported all deliveries prior to this then updated with

Day , Driver delno, del to, town, postcode

then on a friday, all drivers are emailed a full week schedule for the following week

this way they can plan their journey prior to week commencing

we get orders through on a daily basis which can be added to existing routes, i know which route and which driver and which drop number in my head

so by doing this del no adjustment for any additional entries (imports), any user updating hasn't got my head so i am trying to have a simple method after asking me, they can update and auto adjusts.

Then a user on a daily basis will print a drivers route to start assigning deliveries

Thats basically the idea behind this update

    Dave,

My sample was simply a mock up for logic. Like Paul, I don't know your structures and I didn't have a table nor other drivers etc in the mockup. And I didn't realize you had a record DelNo =0.

I showed how to modify numbers in a table, so you could accommodate a new record within your recordset/table.

You definitely need all your criteria to ensure you only change the record(s) that relate to your current issue.

You would not need the Insert. It would be an Update to change Delno = 0 to DelNo=4 + all your other criteria.

@Orange Like i said in an earlier post, every credit to all of you on here, can see sometimes how difficult it is to fix/help people without seeing the structure, plus we all display/name fields, options differently

I just keep forgetting to debug.print to see results after pressing Ctrl+G for immediate window, WGM would confirm that i keep forgetting

    Kindest

    Dave,

WGM (Paul) is in Wales, so he has a 5 hr head start. He has answered most things before the sun rises in North America.
He makes it easy for the rest of us.
