    lookup field error

    Hello

i created a lookup field in an access table. When i type info into the field, access tells me the value that i entered is not in the list, and wont let me store it unless i select it from the drop down list. Does anyone have any idea as to whats going on?

(Here's what i wrote in the record source: SELECT contactID, FirstName+' '+LastName FROM Contacts ORDER BY LastName)
