    Query for combo box

All things being equal, if I want to display items from a table in a combo box that are concatenated or filtered, is it better to create a query and use it as the row source or use the row source property to make a select statement based on the table(s). I'm not even sure if I've used the correct terminology. I've seen and used both methods but am not sure if one is better than the other.

    Thank you

My preference is to build SQL statement in properties whenever possible instead of saving another query object. Especially with simple SQL statements.

It’s a matter of personal preference, I don’t believe one is better than another although I guess there is potentially a tiny Time benefit since with a sql rowsource the query plan needs to be created each time the form is opened. I’m with June - keep the sql in the rowsource property
