    command button is loosing it's bevel

    this is a 101; NTL, has me befuddled

    on a form i have a simple command button, with a bevel.
    the back color is not what i need. Yet when i change it, I loose the baffle

    By bevel do you mean rounded corners? They'll become square corners if you set "Use Theme" to False.

    changing the back color will reset the bevel formatting - just as adding a shadow will reset the border width. Having changed the colour, just reselect bevel

    (apologies, just realized i ought to be in 'forms', not 'programming'; and i did not correctly paste images ... so no one saw thew)

    i vividly recall that command buttons used to have options like: flat, sunken, raised. Now I can't even find those.
    If I could find that, I'd be good

    what i want is a button that looks like

    they are still there- check the border properties

    yes, exactly
    yet now all i get is (unless I'm loosing it):
    (just checked if was maybe some other sort of control... it is not; it is definitely a command button)

    that's all you get in the properties, if you want bevels etc, use the options on the ribbon per Davegri's post
