    Enter parameter message box

When I execute an update query, it prompts me to provide a parameter value, in this example memnum, and should update the entire column of the code field, which is a one-digit field, according to the query.Beginning memnum updates only one row, not the entire column, when I insert it. How to join and update two tables in order to alter every value in the code field.

    Try showing your code?
    We are not mind readers.

When you get a parameter request that you do not expect, that is because Access cannot find that item. Normally because you have misspelt it?
So check and double check your names first.

Yep. Generally if you get "Enter Parameter Value" and you weren't expecting it, you've got a typo. See: Enter Parameter Value
