    Question Hidden Data Source?

    Hello. I have inherited an Access db.

    Keeping in mind that I am primarily a C#/MVC/SQL Server developer...

    There is a query in it which pulls 12.5k records from, what it shows as, "Table1"

    SELECT Table1.ID, Table1.[Part #], Table1.[Serial #], Table1.[Machine #], ...
    FROM Table1;

    In nav pane I am showing "Tables and related views" and "All Tables"

    But, there is no Table1... apparently there is a "group?" called Table1, but.. I don't see where it is an actual entity.

    Any ideas where this data might be coming from? I don't see that It's an ODBC connection either.

    Thanks,

    Matt

    What you are seeing are custom groups.

    Try selecting the unassigned option from the drop down tab in the navigation window.
    If your query works table1 must be there, its just the navigation pane has been "adjusted" to not show it.

    Hi Minty, thank you for your reply. Here is everything under the Navigation window.. I am selecting "Tables and related views" and "All tables". Very confused.

    Even doing it by "Object Type" and "Tables" only shows:

    I Think I found it. Diving deeper into the configuration, I found the "show hidden objects" check.. apparently the table was marked as a hidden. Unhiding it and it shows up!

    Thanks again, Minty.

    That was going to be my next suggestion, I never use the customised groupings in the nav pane, so was fishing a bit in the dark.
    Glad you found it.
