    Best References on Access

I don't know if this question was answered before, and I'm not even sure in which forum to place this question, but here goes...

What were the best books or videos on Access that you used?

For those with gifted minds, all they need to do is to quickly hit F1 and they learn from the online help at such incredible pace.

But for a newbie like me, I need some book or video that will allow me to learn Access following some method, probably in the same way I increase my vocabulary by reading a vocabulary book instead of taking a Webster and religiously memorizing all words from A to Z.

    Thanks guys!

    Joe/Jan

have you ever heard of the 'bible' books? like 'access 2003 bible'? those books are quite amusing and they're very informative but they're also technical. then of course, there are the 'dummy' books: "* for dummies".

I'm not really sure what book it is, but there is one out there called 'programmers reference'. it has a solid red cover on it with the faces of the writers. IMO, that's the best. the 'inside/out' books I've never liked.

then of course, there are sites like Allen Browne's, which are great because they're not cluttered with ads and billions of characters on each page. Allen's site is a prime example of how to fit a bunch of information in a website and not make it confusing to the browsing party. Most Access sites make it impossible to find useful information because of all the ads from 3rd parties, not to mention all of the additional placeholders displaying flash, tags, etc...

just some food for thought for ya!

    Hi Adam!

I think you're referring to Wrox books. Red cover, with author faces... Yeah. I've got a Wrox on my shelf but it's quite old now. Like maybe published in 2006 or so.

Haha, you've never liked Inside/Out? Okay I'll take your word for it!

I don't own a "Bible." Yeah, maybe I'll buy one.

    Thanks

    Joe
