    When you click Add New Date Button do you then enter a Date before trying to add items?

    Yes, I do select a Date, and notice that the DatesID is updated in the subform before Adding cleaning items.

    You must be clicking into the Subform before you click the Add Cleaning Items

    All you need to do is Click Add New date - Then enter a Date - Then click the Add Cleaning Items

    You do not click in the subform
