    How do i create a new field in a query


    im following a practice lesson. and i have created a query from a table. and now its asking me to create a new field in the query called Refund.And calculate the refund due by multiplying PAID by 12.5% (0.125), but i have tried in design view and datasheet view but i just cant seem to work out how to do it. can anyone help ?

    When in design view, click on the Field row of a empty column and type refund: [PAID]*0.125 .

    thanks....i did what you said and if the paid was 67.5...the refund would be 8.4375..... if thats right i know the rest are right ? maths not my strong point so lol

    I doubled checked on a calculator and that is correct. Please mark the thread as Solved and click on the scales to give me rep. At the top of the thread is a heading that reads Thread Tools.
