    dot (.) versus Exclamation (!)

Okay, don't laugh, this is a real question!

I inadvertently used a dot instead of an exclamation when referencing my form (using the me reserved word) and was amazed that not only did the syntax take, but it provided a drop down of all objects and properties associated to the form so I could select my text box. I let it go, and the syntax seems to take without issue.

So this begs the question, what's the difference between

Me![btnSave] and Me.btnSave ? Is one preferred above another, is there benefit or detriment to either?

As you may (or may not) know from my 'bio' I have entered the realm of Access 2013 from Access 97 just this year (I know, I know) and am stumbling across a huge number of better and cooler ways and properties to do stuff that is just making me giddy. But I wanted to ask about this before I change my head to the newer(?) syntax. And maybe it's not new, but it's new to me!

    Just talkin'...

LOL!!! Good lord NO! It sounds (at first quick-read) like a discussion on religion between atheist and clergy! Just kidding... but MAN! A lot of what was discussed is over my head, but I did glean some from it. Thanks for the reference.
