    Presentation and question

    Hello
I am a volunteer IT manager for the Secours Populaire de Haute-Savoie (french non-profit organization)
I am not a developer but many years ago I developed a CRM style application for a friend in MS-Access 2002 with VBA.
Today, I have to develop a small app for about twenty non-simultaneous single-site users with Office versions from 2003 to 2019 and even two under Office 365.
From what I remember, this application could very well have been easily written in Access. But when I look at Microsoft's sites I have the impression that they have abandoned this product, which would have suited me well, but I see good activity on your forum.
Access is it still very much alive?
Could you shed some light on this for me?
    Thank you for your answers
    cordially
    S. Mercier

IMO that is just a rumour that won't die, but if you have any links where Microsoft is saying this could you post them? I'm sure most people here would like to read that.

Access is alive and still being developed by Microsoft though change takes much longer than for other Office products.
MS is committed to continuing it , at least for the foreseeable future.

As for your new app, you can create it in any version from Access 2000 onwards as an MDB file and all end users will be able to open it no matter what version they have.
You will lose some of the newer features of ACCDB files from more recent versions, but the main functionality is unchanged.
